Allegory of the Cave Sonnet

Only the enlightened are set free
From the shackles that bind us to the wall
Only the enlightened can see
Another reality greater than all
We must find our own reality
A world outside the one we've come to believe
One filled with hope and glee
Different from the one we see that's meant to deceive

An open mind is key
To reach enlightenment, to achieve
The bliss outside the wall
A new view of reality
One must be able to believe
That what we see is not all

  2. Good job Jenna, just make sure when writing sonnets that you need to separate the stanzas more definitively.

Two in one post, I like your blog, it is simple but it serves a very unique purpose. How do you plan to help your literary reading group ? http://jfowlerenglit.blogspot.com/

  3. I'm fascinated with your Petrarchan Sonnet, the a,b,a,b rhymes were great but there was a lack of iambics. Overall your figurative language immersed me into the actually cave, seeing the prisoners all closed minded wanting to see reality.

I enjoy your blog it's plain, simple, and straightforward (that's how I like it). If you have an addition strategy for understanding The Tales of Two Cities for our literary circle, my blog is a click away ----> http://dannytbuuluu.blogspot.com
